Life Issues

Life is a constant journey of learning and growth. It’s very easy to live life when everything is going along smoothly. When life deals us a curve ball such as illness or loss of job, or death of a loved one it turns your world upside down and inside out. It affects your wellbeing and mental health. My role is to provide a safe and confidential space for you to process the affect, explore your options and develop strategies and solutions during difficult times as your self-awareness grows.

 

Anxiety & Stress

Anxiety can stop you from being able to manage daily life. It will often appear when under pressure or from social situations. There are skills and strategies to help manage and understand what causes the anxiety.

 

Stress is an acclamation of pressure and expectations that we place on ourselves or by others. It is our body telling us that we are emotionally, mentally and physically exhausted….saying that ‘what I’m doing is not working’ and recognise that some assistance with resetting the body/mind systems would be timely.  I can support you with this.

Personal Counselling

Personal Counselling is about discovering the deeper sense of self- the ‘who am I?’ How others, and life events affect you.  It provides the opportunity to discover the ‘core essence’ of you.

Identify how to resolve issues and through reflective practice, find meaning and purpose in life.

 

Separation & Divorce

Separation and Divorce is extremely difficult for all concerned and has a ripple affect on all family members, extended family members, friends, colleagues and social networks. It can feel very isolating and debilitating. Counselling provides a safe space to process the loss and grief and help adapt to the change while coming to an understanding of who am I now and how to move forward.

 

Change, Loss, Grief and Bereavement

We grieve, mourn and grow through life events.  You cannot rush the process and it takes time to heal and shift.  It’s important that the change, loss, grief and bereavement are validated, honouring the connection and affect it has on you. Counselling enables you to navigate these experiences and providing the space in a safe and nurturing environment.

 

Mental Health

Mental Heath is about ‘well-being’ and being able to manage the challenges that life presents in an optimal and positive manner.

 

If you or your loved one are struggling on a daily basis do not hesitate to seek assistance.  Some of the signs and symptoms will be your thought process, social connections and emotional well-being.  Everyone needs to belong and counselling helps to integrate one’s ability to succeed and accomplish task and goals.

 

Trauma

Trauma can affect us directly or indirectly. It occurs when the threat or perceived threat remains vivid through sensory processing both, physical, emotional and psychological within the body.

 

Trauma-informed care aims to work with the mind-memory, body-sensations and gut-feelings. It is working with your assumptive world and how you find meaning.

 

Trauma-informed care aims to balance and reset the nervous system through language, movement and creative expressions. Most importantly it’s validating your lived experience.  It’s observing the change, strength and growth that is occurring with gentle understanding.

 

Wellbeing

The business of life can often put extra demands and pressures on you. Emotional and energetic wellbeing is learning to find purpose, direction and coping strategies so that you function at your optimal best within society. It is having your own moral and ethical compass. It’s a belief in yourself and where life is taking you, where you want to go and what changes you wish to implement. Wellbeing is having a philosophy that is fluid, adaptable and changeable to the situations you find yourself in.
